The newly announced PC and consoleBatman: Arkham Origins game will be joined at launch by a side-scrolling Metroidvania for 3DS and Vita entitledBatman: Arkham Origins Blackgate.
That's according to US magazine Game Informer, which unveiled the two games on the cover of its May issue.
Blackgate is described as "a completely separate experience that takes place after the events of Arkham Origins" but before the story in Arkham Asylumand City.
The game is being developed by Armature Studio, the Texas-based company that was formed by a trio of ex-Retro Studios staffers. These three chaps were key creators of the much-loved Metroid Prime trilogy.
Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate will be available on the same day asOrigins, which is (in the US, at least), scheduled to debut on October 25th, 2013.
