Update: We've heard back on the topic of "mobile platforms" and have been told that while the exact platforms cannot be confirmed at this time, Hometown Story "will be on one or more at launch". The original story follows
Back at E3 2012, Harvest Moon creator Yasuhiro Wada revealed his next game - a new intellectual property known as Project Happiness.
The game recently changed its name and evolved into Hometown Story, to place a better emphasis on its setting and mood.
This disarmingly cute simulation title follows the story of a shopkeeper and their magical companion sprite as they try to find their place in the world.
Oh, and it also happens to feature the talents of the legendary Final Fantasycomposer Nobuo Uematsu and the equally legendary Pokemon character designer Atsuko Nishida.
I was born in a small town
Despite the impressive talent behind Hometown Story, it was thought that the game would not see a release outside of Japan.
This changed on Tuesday, however, when it was announced that Natsume will bringHometown Story to fans in North America, while Rising Star Games will handle the European release.
Interestingly, Hometown Story will be published for "mobile platforms" as well as the Nintendo 3DS. We're not sure what mobile platforms are currently up for consideration, but have since learned that it will be available on "one or more at launch".
Additional information on Hometown Story will be made available this summer at E3 2013. Until that time, you can sit back and enjoy the trailer below.
