We Europeans weren't offered a single new game on the Nintendo 3DS eShop last week. Not a drop. Zilch. Nada.
This week, however, things are a bit different. Thank goodness. There's a new Sonic Racing game for Europe-based petrolheads, for instance, and a real classic on the Virtual Console.
There's a nice selection of fresh 3DS downloadables for you Americans, too. So, everyone should be entertained to some degree.
Read on to find out what you can expect if you go down to the eShop today.
European eShop releases
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is the big one this week. This is a download version of the full retail game. It'll cost you £29.99 if you're so inclined. (This is actually a reasonable price for a change. Wooo.)
I've not personally played the 3DS version yet, but I do own and very much like the Wii U version. If this handheld edition is even a patch on its console counterpart, well, break out the champagne.
In Real Heroes: Firefighter 3D, meanwhile, you are pitted as a fireman who must aim jets of water to extinguish fires. Oh, and prise open doors with a fire axe.
We reviewed it last year when it came out in the US. It's a bit of a stinker, I'm afraid. Even with that £8.99 price tag. Don't bother.
In the Virtual Console section this week, there's Mega Man 2, one of "the greatest action games of all time". According to Nintendo.
I'm sure that many people will be inclined to agree, so if you haven't given this a play before, you can't really go wrong at £4.49.
Finally, there's a demo for the dual-platforming, brain-destroying Fractured Soul. Definitely worth a download if you like your platformers.
US eShop releases
And what can Americans expect to find on the virtual shelves of their friendly, local 3DS eShop?
Well, Brain Age: Concentration Training is finally out, having debuted in Japan last summer. It's the latest release in the Brain Age series.
Note that it'll appear on the US eShop's shelves on February 10th, so you've only got a few more days to wait.
There are also numerous digital versions of old games now available on the US eShop.
These include Splinter Cell 3D, Rayman 3D, and Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 3D.
You lucky, lucky Americans get the chance to download Mega Man 2, too. With a $4.99 price tag, by the way. Fill your boots and all that.
Finally, there's a demo for RPG Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan in the 3DS store. The full game will land on the 3DS later this month. Check out the demo, see what you think.
Until next week, farewell, laterz, good pie!
